Lee Macdonald

The death of Lee J.W. Mac Donald of Moncton and formerly of Charlo, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on December 20, 2004, after a lengthy illness at the age of 32.

Born in Dalhousie on May 9, 1972, he was the son of Wayne MacDonald and Mary Gilbert. Lee was employed as a Computer Numerical Machinist Inst. Technician.

He will be sadly missed by his fiancé Sonia Landry of Moncton; his parents Mary and Wayne MacDonald of Charlo; paternal grandparents Allen and Claire Macdonald of Charlo; sister Stacey MacDonald McKay (Marc) of Orleans ON; and niece Mica McKay of Orleans ON.

Evangeline (Van) Lawlor

The death of Evangeline (Van) Lawlor of Jacquet River, wife of Mike Lawlor, occurred Friday, December 24, 2004, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst at the age of 83.

Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of the late John Tardiff and the late Beatrice Legacy.

Van was a life long member of the Catholic Women's League, involved in the Parish Council of St. Gabriel's Parish, and very active in the community.

She is survived by her husband Mike; sons Jack (Terri) of Ottawa, ON, Bernie (Linda) of Belledune, Paul (Ann) of Belledune, Lawerence (Vera) of Sarina, ON, Robert (Joanne) of Halifax, NS, and Brian of Woodstock, ON; daughter Frances (Wayne) McDonnell of Fredericton. She is also survived by her brothers Edgar, Gregory, Manny, Vianney, and Fred; sisters Lee Smith and Lou Lejeune, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her grandson Cory, brothers Delore and Arthur; sister Derilda and daughter-in-law Diane (Brian).

Alberta Vienneau

The death of Alberta Vienneau of 9 Dieppe St, Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton regional hospital on December 21, 2004.

Born in Campbellton on August 14, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Albert Letourneau and the late Marie Eulalie Imbeault.

She is survived by her husband Earl Vienneau; daughters Nikki (Tom) of Fredericton, Paulette of PEI, and Roberta (Richard) of Montreal; grandchildren Darryl (Sharon) of Victoria, BC, and Donna (James) of North Bay, ON; great granddaughter Alysha of Victoria BC.

Lydia Hickey

The death of Lydia Hickey, wife of Hector Hickey of Dalhousie, occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dalhousie on December 17, 2004.

Born in Balmoral on April 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James Laliberté and the late Malvina Savoie.

She is survived by her husband Hector; children Jeanette (Herby) Charest of Balmoral, Dorothy LePage of Moncton, Clarence (Rolande) Hickey of Dalhousie, Herby (Huguette) Hickey of Dalhousie and Erwin Hickey of Moncton; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Alma Lamontagne of Campbellton, brothers Adrien Laliberté, Albert Laliberté both of Balmoral and Donat Laliberté of Dalhousie, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Francois Hickey of Dalhousie.

Thomas Degrechie

The death of Thomas Degrechie of Jacquet River, husband of Derilda (Laviolette), occurred Monday December 20, 2004, at St. Josephs Hospital in Dalhousie at the age of 82.

Born in Jacquet River, he was the son of the late Joseph Degrechie and the late Mary Page. He served overseas in WWII, and was a member of Durham Branch #77 Legion in Jacquet River for 39 years.

He is survived by his wife Derilda, daughters Joyce, Joan and sister Helen Harris of Campbellton. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Baptiste, and sister Philemon.

Aubrey B. Gilker

The death of Aubrey B. Gilker of 2 Normandie St., Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the age of 82.

Born in Campbellton on March 19, 1922, he was the son of the late William Joseph Gilker and the late Agnes Eva Casey. He was employed as a Provincial Government Financial Officer with the Restigouche Hospital and Centracare in Saint John for 33 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where hw was on the board of management, worked with the youth groups and was a teller. He was also Secretary/Treasurer of the Restigouche MS Chapter, volunteer for Meals on Wheels, 2RNBR North Shore Reserve Cpl., member of t he Royal Canadian Legion #19 and member of the Campbellton Curling Club. Aubrey also enjoyed long walks with his dog Lucky.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Gilker (MacMillan); daughter Heather Gilker of Toronto, ON; sons Wayne L. Gilker of Kingston, ON, and Allan L. Gilker of Oshawa, ON; sisters Eileen Garrels of Campbellton and Ellen Smith of Edmonton, Alberta. He is also survived by Jill Gilker of Ontario.

He was predeceased by his first wife Mildred Gilker (Flanagan), Arnold (Toby) Gilker, Viola Hocquard and Edward Gilker.

Omer Chamberlain

The death of Omer Chamberlain of 5 Central St., Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 24, 2004.

Born in Bathurst on August 28, 1936, he was the son of the late John Chamberlain and the late Eveline Couture. Omer was a retired electrician.

He is survived by his daughters Lynn, Richard, Carole Chamberlain and Nicole Cameron; son John Chamberlain; sisters Marcelle, Elizabeth, Dorothy, Jeannine, Therese, Claudette, Yvette, Linda, Annette and Suzanne; brothers Norman, Hector, Hubert, Frank, Phillippe, Roger, David and Jean-Yves.

He was predeceased by his sisters Hilda, Aline and Diane.
