ROGER ESSIEMBRE
Roger Essiembre of Campbellton died suddenly at home on August 22, 2002. Born in Campbellton on July 16, 1942, he was the son of Omer Essiembre and Priscille Frenette.
He was an insurance broker for the last 40 years and was an active member of Campbellton Rotary Club and the Restigouche Planning Commission.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Legacy Essiembre of Campbellton, his parents, one daughter, Nicole (Jason) White of Neguac and her children, Jarvis and Keegan, his son, Gilles (fiancée Lyne Frenette) of Moncton, a sister, Cecile (Normand) Goulette of Quebec, a brother, Ronald (Joyce) of Campbellton, as well as nieces and nephews; Rene Essiembre, Rachel Smith and Luc and Mona Malenfant.
His funeral was held at Mary Queen Church in Richardsville on August 26, 2002.
Pallbearers were Gary Keeley, David Rose, Brian Theede, Bob Smith, Pat McGrath, and Robert Allain. Honourary pallbearers were Jack Crowley, David Methot, John Dickinson, Donald Legacy, Alphonse Malenfant, David Humphrey, Stephane Keeley, and Jean Guy Bernard.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home in Campbellton.
Mary Anne Letourneau
The death of Marie Anne Letourneau, 96, of Dalhousie, occurred on August 19, 2002 at her home. She was born in Nouvelle on July 14, 1906 to Napoleon Caissy and Marianne Landry and spent her life as a loving mother and home maker.
She is survived by her daughters; Lillian of Dalhousie, Frances (Reid) MacPherson of Dalhousie, and Joan (Paul) Letourneau-Robinson of Ottawa, her sons; Guy (Frances) of Dalhousie, Eddie of Dalhousie, and Billy (Aline) of Dalhousie, as well as 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth.
Her funeral service was held at Saint John Bosco Church in Dalhousie on August 22 with father Chamberlain officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were six of her grandchildren; Christain, Kirby, and Andrew Letourneau, Stephen and Jason Ahad, and Darren MacPherson.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home in Dalhousie.
James Donnelly
James Donnelly of Jacquet River passed away on August 17, 2002 at the age of 85. He was born in Mitchell to the late James Donnelly and Bridgette Guitard.
He is survived by his son, Lonnie (Maudie) of Jacquet River, his daughters; Myrna Ross (Bob) of Tabusintac, Loretta (Rene) Lapointe (Gabriel) of Nash Creek, Monica Gray (William) of Mississauga, Janet Donnelly of Mississauga, Neil Guitard (Darrell) of Jacquet River, Marlene Harvey (Danny) of Jacquet River and Darlene Lavigne (Tony) of Jacquet River, his brothers; Hubert of Jacquet River and Dow of Montreal, his sisters; Geraldine Glover of Vancouver, Marjorie Noel of Mitchell and Lillian Kavanaugh of Montreal, as well as 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Opal (Wozell), his sons; Gussie and Phillip, his daughter, Mary and his brother, Robert.
Pallbearers were Darrell Guitard, Danny Harvey, Tony Lavigne, Hubert Donnelly, Bob Ross, and Larry Donnelly. His grandchildren served as his honourary pallbearers.
The funeral service was held at St. Gabriel’s Church in Jacquet River on August 19 and was officiated by father Benoit. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home in Black Point.
Stasia Moriarity
The death of Stasia Moriarity of Jacquet River occurred on August 20, 2002 at the age of 54. She was born in Chatham of Garfield Carrier and Juliette (Martin).
She is survived by her husband, Victor of Jacquet River, her sons; Joey (Bonnie) of Beresford and Jason (Kim) of Fredericton, her daughter, Pam McNeil (Yves) of Fredericton, her sisters; Sheila Guitard of Montreal, Debbie Losier (Eugene) of Belledune, and Monica Guitard (Michael) of Armstrong, as well as four grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, one son, Clayton and one brother, Clayton.
Her funeral service was held on August 22 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Jacquet River with interment in the parish cemetery. The service was officiated by father Benoit.
Pallbearers were Mark Carrier, Arnold Ellis, Don Moriarity, Ricky Moriarity, Mitch Guitard and Michael Blake.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home in Black Point.
Rhoda Cady
Relatives and friends were saddened to her of the death of Rhoda Cady, which occurred on August 21, 2002 at the Campbellton Nursing Home at the age of 86.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Cady, her step-daughter, Doreen Smollett, her nieces; Betty Mullin (Wood) and Judy Wheatley (Young), her nephews; Hazen Wood, Hadley Wood, Jerry Wood, and David Young, three step-grandchildren and many great grand nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service was held in the Chaleur Funeral Home Chapel on August 24, 2002.
Pallbearers were Hazen Wood, Hadley Wood, Jerry Wood and Betty Mullin. Honourary pallbearers were Etta Patterson, Cynthia MacDonald, Margaret Comeau, Hazel Trepanier, Edwina Laplante, and Emily Gauvin.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Chaleur Funeral Home in Campbellton.
