Alfreda Christie

Mrs. Alfreda “Freda” Christie, 75, wife of Raymond J. Christie, of Queen Elizabeth Dr., Bathurst, died Tuesday (3 September, 2002) at the Bathurst Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with Cancer.

Born in Shippagan, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Ida (Gallant) Robichaud.

She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Woman’s League, Bathurst.

Besides her husband, Raymond, she was the loving mother to: Gail Badman (Roy), Karen Vienneau (Charlie), Roy Christie (Nicole) and Susan Christie, all of Bathurst, 1 Sister: Jeannine Robichaud of Dalhousie, 2 Brother: August Robichaud and Gilles Robichaud, both of Dalhousie, Loving grandmother of Kristi-Line & Michelle Vienneau and Bradley & Jeffery Christie, all of Bathurst.

Several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by 1 brother and 2 sisters.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday afternoon (7 September, 2002) from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.

Elsie Harper

The death of Frances Elsie Louise Harper of the Village Nursing Home in Campbellton occurred on August 27, 2002 at the age of 74.

She was born in Tide Head to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Harper.

She attended the New Brunswick Technical Institute and graduated as a practical nurse. She spent a number of years in Ontario before moving home to work at the Soldier’s Memorial Hospital in Campbellton.

She was an active member of the Salvation Army and member of the Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Jean (William) Adams of Tide Head, her sister-in-law; Marion Harper of Victoria, B.C. and Simone Harper of Sarnia, On, her nieces; Shirley Macintosh of Halifax and Katherine Johnson of Mission, B.C., her nephews; Bill Adams of Bristol, N.B., Robert Harper of Vancouver, Brian Harper of Victoria, B.C., and Michael Harper of Airdrie, Alta.

She was predeceased by her sister, Doreen and brothers; Albert and Ivan.

Her funeral service was held in Maher’s Funeral Chapel in Campbellton on August 29 with Rev. Douglas Phillips of the First Baptist Church officiating, with assistance from Mrs. Mary Saulnier of the Salvation Army. Interment was in the Rural Cemetery.

Arrangements were in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home in Campbellton.

Wilbrod Joseph Frenette

The death of Wilbrod Joseph Frenette, 71, of Dalhousie occurred on September 10, 2002 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dalhousie. He was a foreman in the shipping department for NBIP.

He was born in Dalhousie on May 1, 1931 to Edgar Frenette and Alice LeClair of Dalhousie.

Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Boudreau of Dalhousie, his daughter, Diane (Raymond) Forbes of Kelowna, B.C., his son, Edgar (Nicole) Frenette of Dalhousie, his sisters; Doris Button of Dalhousie, Lydia Cannon of Pembroke, On., Florence Guitard of Pointe Verte. Isabelle Frenette of Dalhousie, and brothers; Reginald of Dalhousie and Germain of Val d’Amour, as well as four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his father.

His funeral was held at Saint John Baptist Church in Dalhousie on September 13 and was officiated by father Doiron, with interment in the parish cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher’s Funeral home in Campbellton.

Stephen Drapeau

The death of Stephen Drapeau, 42, of Eel River Crossing occurred on September 11, 2002 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dalhousie.

He was born in Dalhousie on November 9, 1959 to Guy Drapeau and Eileen Godin and was a mason for 12 year for Bathurst Asphalt. He also enjoyed fishing, motorcycles and building cars.

He is survived by his mother, Eileen Drapeau of Eel River Crossing, his sisters; Deborah of Windsor, On., Jo-Ann of Edmonton, Brigitte Savoie of Balmoral, Sophia (Kevin) Fox of Seaside, N.B. and Lisa of Val d’Amour, and two brothers; Maniel of Halifax and Delano of Edmonton.

He was predeceased by his father Guy Drapeau.

His funeral was held at Holy Trinity Church in Eel River Crossing on September 14 with Rev. Arseneau Officiating.

Pallbearers were Maniel, Delano and Kevin Drapeau, and Albert Belanger, Marc Levesque, and Gilbert Joncas.

His arrangements were in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home in Campbellton.

Bernard Young

The death of Bernard Young of Bathurst occurred on September 10 at the age of 81.

He was born in Durham Center to the late Frank Young and Elizabeth Guitard.

He is survived by his brother, Victor of B.C., and his sisters; Janie Driscoll of New York and Gertrude (Hector) Guitard of Jacquet River.

Beside his parents he was predeceased by brothers; Joe, Leonard, Lawrence, Raymond, and Alvin and sisters; Lena Guitard, Florence Donner and Eva Hickey.

His funeral service was held on September 12 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Jacquet River with father Wilfred Benoit officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joey and Laurie Frenette, Charles and Jimmy Young, Michael Guitard and Llyod Doucet.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of MacMillan’s Funeral Home in Black Point.

Elmer Roy

The death of Elmer Roy, 69, of Bathurst occurred on September 9 at the Bathurst Hospital.

He was born in Belledune, the son of the late Emile and Loretta Roy.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rolande, his daughters; Cathy Russell (Eugene) of Miramichi and Linda Hickey (Danny) of Belledune, his sons; Omer (Theresa) of Bathurst, Raymond (Joan) of Bathurst and Danny (Allison) of Bathurst, his brother, Livin (Lucette) of Petit Rocher, his sisters; Lauza Guitard of Green Point, Genevieve Guitard of Petit Rocher, Rita Fournier of Dundas, On., Patricia MacDougall of Ottawa and sister Yvette Roy of Haiti, as well 10 grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers; Eloi and Gerald and sisters; Ernestine St. Pierre, Delcina Drake and Antoinette Guitard.

His funeral service was held on September 12 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Belledune.

Pallbearers were Justin and Eugene Russell, Danny Hickey, Gabriel Guitard, Kahler Noon and Paul Emile Roy.

His funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home in Black Point.

Germaine Savoie

Germaine Savoie of Dalhousie passed away on September 11 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dalhousie at he age of 88.

She was born in Dalhousie to Pierre and Agnes Arseneau.

She is survived by her sons; Edgar of Dalhousie and Pat (Gail) of Dalhousie, her daughter, Marina of Jacquet River, her four brothers; Edgar (Clare) of Dalhousie, Herman (Maria) of Dalhousie, Lionel (Doris) of Dalhousie and Wilbrod (Theresa) of Moncton, three sisters; Dora Gendron (Roy) of Jacksonville, Florida, Rose Marie Leblanc of Saint John, and Bernadette Lawlor of Dalhousie, as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter, her brother Gerry and sisters; Rita and Evangeline.

Her burial took place in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Dalhousie.

Her funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral home in Black Point.
