Elizabeth Guitar

The death of Elizabeth Guitar of the Chez Carole Nursing Home in Pointe Verte occurred on November 15, 2002 at the Bathurst Regional Hospital at the age of 95.

She was born on March 12, 1907 in Saint Leolin, NB to the Late Joseph Landry and the Late Delima Cormier.

She was an active member of the Atholville Golden Age Club.

She is survived by her children (Edna Doucet her daughter-in-law), Simone (the late Gaston Pichette), Magarite, Geraldine, Yvette (William) Fayle, Gerald (Theresa), Raoul (Agnes) Arpin, Jean-Marc (Amy Bielby), Charline (Jean) Parent, Lucien (Stella Landry), Jeanne D'Arc (George) Arseneau, Winnifred, Danielle Lise (Roger) Guitar, Michel (Janice Adams), and Murielle (Gerard) Rouleau, as well as 66 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one son, Euclide.

Her funeral was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on November 19 with Father Morrison officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery in Tide Head.

The funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton.

Theodore Lapointe

The death of Theodore Lapointe of Benjamin River occurred on November 18, 2002 at the age of 71.

He was born in New Mills to Joseph Lapointe and Eloise (Boulay).

He is survived by his wife, Bertha (Harquail), his daughter, Vivian of Vancouver, his sons; Darryl of Ottawa and and Neil of Toronto, his brothers; Gabriel, Delore, Leo, Lloyd and Philip, his sisters; Delores (Chambers), Patsy (Marvin), Eileen (Arseneau) and Joan Allard.

He was predeceased by one brother, Eugene.

His Funeral service was held on November 21 at Our Lady of Visitation Church in Benjamin with Father Lionel Comeau officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Glenn Moore, Alan Shea, Leo Stephen, Mario and Gabe Lapointe.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home in Black Point.

John Parent

John Parent of Campbellton passed away on November 18, 2002 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. He was 72.

He was born on March 13, 1930, son of the late Paul Parent and Rose Anna Doucet and was a school custodian.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Fugere, his sons; Allan in Vancouver, Mark (Vickie) of Campbellton, Danny of Campbellton, and David of Campbellton, his sisters; Anna Belliveau of Campbellton, Lizianne Parent of Toronto, Lorraine Hamilton of Glen Levit, and Rose Aline (Leo) Bujold of Campbellton.

His funeral was held on November 21 at Mary Queen's Church in Richardsville with Father Morrison officiating. Interment was in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Tide Head.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton.

John Franklin (Red) Ross 1923-2002 (79)

Passed away peacefully with dignity and courage in Ontario after a two-year struggle with heart ailments and Alzheimers.

He is survived by his son, Stewart (Shigawake, Quebec) and his daughter, Madolyn (Grimsby, Ontario), his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brother to Alice Theriault (Dalhousie) and long time companion to Lydia Larson.

Red was predeceased by his loving wife, Emily Rose (Kitty) Delegard, his sons; Gregory Allan, and Colin and one daughter, Colleen.

He was employed at the pulp and paper mill in Dalhousie until he retired at age 55, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and World War II veteran.

A funeral service will be held on November 30 at the Saint John Bosco Parish with Father Edmond Chamberlain officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimers association would be greatly appreciated.

He will be laid to rest at the Darlington Cemetery.
