Joseph (Joe) Swasson
It is with regret that we announce the passing of Joseph Swasson, peacefully with his family by his side at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, August 18, 2001.
He lived to the age of 84 years. Even so, it was breathtaking to have him leave us. We were not ready to let him go. We live our lives knowing that at some time God will call us home, we were still so unprepared.
Joe wored hard all his li, from the time he was 11 years old, he worked in the woods until he was 83, when he had to stop because of his health. He worked the boom for 38 years. The only day Joe did not work was on Sunday the one day he stayed with his family all day to enjoy his day of rest. He had eyes that had seen much, some happy some sad, but one does not go through life without experiencing both. The lessons learned are what counts. A man of 84 learned many lessons in his long life.
He was predeceased by two sons; Ronnie, tragically in 1987 and his eldest son, Peter in 1999, both way before their time. He was also predeceased by three grandchildren; Perely Caplin, Scotty Parker, and his godchild Rhonda Swasson.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Lilly Isaac, five sons, Leonard (Christine), of Connecticut, Michael (Carol), Floyd (Gisele), Ralf (Judy), Venner all of Listiguj and three daughters, Margaret Swasson Caplin, Malvina Swasson Metallic of LIstiguj, and Delphine (Debbie) of Montreal.
He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
