Floyd James Alban Craswell

The death of Floyd Craswell of Mann's Mountain, NB, occurred on January 18, 2003 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. He was 95.

He was born in Mann's Mountain (Point Pleasant) on August 6, 1907 and was the son of the late James Absolom Craswell and the late Sarah Jane Wafer. He was a river guide, farmer and woodsman in the region.

He is survived by his daughters, Gladys (Murdock) Irvine of Crookshire, Quebec, Betty (John) Cook Adams of Flatlands, and Freida (Alfred) Harvey of Mann's Mountain, his sons, Glenford (Shirley) of Atholville, Denzil (June) of Mann's Mountainaand Boyd (Julia) of Mann`s Mountain his sister, Emily Travers of Fredericton, as well as 20 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Bessie Hall MacDonald his sisters, baby Velma, Luella and Opal and his brothers, Calvin, Elmer, and Emmerson.

His funeral was held January 21 at Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton with Wendell Gregan officiating. Interment was in Flatlands. Pallbearers were Patrick Sears and his grandsons, Eric Terry Karl, and Royce Craswell and Billy Cook. Honorary Pallbearers were Bruce Borden, Archie Babcock, George Thomas, Martha Lurette, Eileen Wilson, Donald and Barry Irvine, and Alvin, Gerald, Donald and Auley Craswell. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton.

Joseph Anningson

The death of Joseph Anningson, of the Village Nursing Home and formerly of Glen Levit, occurred at his residence at the age of 86.

He was born in Campbellton a son of the late Joseph Anningson and the late Janetta Montgomery.

He is survived by his wife Ruth (Pollock) his daughter Mrs., Gil Penrose of Laurel Ontario and his son Allan of Port William, Nova Scotia. His funeral service was held at Maher, s Funeral Chapel on January 27, 2003, Rev. Wendell Gregan officiating, with interment in the spring at the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton .

Gabriel Bouchard

The death of Gabriel Bouchard, 64 of Val d'Amour occurred on January 24 2003, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.

He was born in Val d'Amour on January 31, 1938, a son of the late Celestin Bouchard and the late Anna LeBlanc. He was a lumberjack.

He is survived by his sisters, Adrienne (Robert) Lavasseur, Fida (Laurier) Paquet, Dorice (Eugene) Savoie, Marie-Lousie (Armand) Levesque, and Celestine, his brothers Jean-Louis (Huguette Lapointe), Romain (Annelle Levesque) and Jean-Paul, as well as many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by Martin in 1989 and Bernadette in 2000. Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Sacred Hearts Church in Val d'Amour on January 27 with Father Godin officiating. Interment was in the Val d'Amour cemetery. Pallbearers were Jean-Guy Maltais, Yves Boudreau, Bruno Levesque, Allan and Jacques Savoie and Ken Bouchard. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton.

Hartley Brown

The death of Hartley Brown, 70, of Dalhousie occurred on January 8 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dalhousie. He was born in Dalhousie on June 6,1932 a son of the late Philomene LeClair.

He was a crane operator and veteran of Korean War (1951-1953 P. P. C. L. I). He also was an active member of the Recreaplex in Dalhousie where he would often be found in the gym or pool and a member of the Amputee Association.

He is survived by his wife, Juliette (Melanson) his daughter Darlene (Kirk) O'Rourke of Dalhousie, his sons Barry of Dalhousie, and Boyd (Cindy) of Salisbury, his sisters, Ruby Casey and Pearl Roy, both of Dalhousie, his grandchildren, Shawn, Shannon, Jordan and Cameron, and his nieces and nephews, Julie, Diane, Michael, Harlley, and Richard.

The funeral was held on January 10 at Saint John Bosco Church in Dalhousie with Rev. Chamberlain officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Dalhousie.

Case Helen Francis

Helen Case died peacefully at her home in Campbellton N.B. on Tuesday, January 07, 2003. She was cremated on Thursday, January 09, 2003.

There will be a Memorial Service for Helen's family and friends at the Wantaquoti Bed&Breakfast in Fleurant Point Quebec on Saturday, February 8, 2003 at 4pm. (N.B. time).

Helen leaves behind her daughter Janet (Barry), her son William (Barb) & daughter Ginny (Richard) Boudreau and Olivier Boudreau. Also many friends in Ontario, N.B. and Quebec. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was born in Toronto Ontario, and lived for many years in Ottawa and Kars Ontario. She will be remembered by many in Ottawa as a hard working and dedicated Real-estate Broker and Mortgage Broker. Helen retired when she was 73 and was an active bridge player for many years after her retirement.

Mary Kathleen (Mae) Dickie

The death of Mae Dickie of Black Point occurred on January 19, 2003 at St. Joseph's Hospital at the age of 89. She was born on January 4, 1914 in New Mills, the daughter of the late Anthony Olsen and the late Elizabeth Catherine (Pettigrew).

In her younger years, she taught Sunday school and Messengers and was active in the church and community. She was also an avid historian and assisted many people in the tracing of their roots. She is survived by her sons, David (Alma) of Miscouche, PEI and Nils (Ruth) of St. George, NB her grandchildren Mark, Owen Eric, Darlene, Gregory, and Rayn Dickie and Wanda and Holly Esliger, her 12 great grandchildren her step grandchildren as well as many cousins across Canada and in Norway.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold (1975), her sons, Wilbur (1939) and Norman (1991), her daughter, Elizabeth Ann (1991) and her brother Herman (1958).

Her wishes were to be cremated, with no service at this time. A graveside service and interment will be held in the spring in New Mills. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home in Black Point.

Antoinette Dumont

The death of Antoinette Dumont, of the Village Nursing Home occurred on January 26, 2003. She was born in Saint Donat, Quebec on November 11, 1912 and was 90 years old.

She was the daughter of the late Eugenie Girard and Antoine Hudon and was predeceased by her husband Edmond Dumont.

She is survived by her son, Gerald (Carmel) Dumont, her daughter, Denise Babcock, her grandchildren, Mark Dumont, Pierre (Melissa) Dumont, Kevin and Nancy Babcock, and Lisa (Babcock) Evans, her great grandson Ethan Evans, her sisters, Jeanne (Ernest) Desgagnes of Rimouski, Laurette Hudon of Rimouski, Armand (Claire) Hudon of Surrey, BC, Paul (Pierrette) Hudon of Lavaltrie, Quebec and Jean Hudon of St. Jerome, Quebec as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Fernand, Maurice, Ernest, Gerard, Emilien and Charles Hudon, Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Snow's Church on January 29 with Rev Romeo Morrision officiating, The pallbeares were the parish guard. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton.

Thomas Dennis Godin

Passed away peacefully on December 24, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kingston, Ontario after a lengthy illness at the age of 63. He was the husband of Yvonne Peters.

He was the son of the late Thomas Godin and Agnes Hickey, of Lorne. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Louise Chamberlain, Irma Maltais, Bernice Doucet and May Duguay and his brothers, Armas, Gordon, and Donald. He was predeceased by his brothers, Allan, Weldon, Andrew and Sandy, and his sisters, May Morehouse and Gladys Carrier. A funeral mass was held at the T.R. Duffus Funeral Home Chapel in Kingston with Father Liam Tallen officiating. Interment will be in the spring at St. Maria Goretti Church in Lorne.

Calvin James (Bucky) Ramsay

The death of Calvin Ramsay, 61, of Campbellton occurred at his home on January 11, 2003. He was born in Campbellton on June 19, 1941 a son of the late Calvin Angus Ramsay (*correction* not Murray as first placed in obit in Tribune) and the late Ellen Kelly.

He was retired from the NBIP Mill in Dalhousie where he was a machinist. He was also very active in the Foster Parents Program.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Firth, his mother-in-law, Norena Firth, his father-in-law William Scotty Mitchell, his foster daughter Jessica Clements, his sons, Fred (Tracy) of Halifax and Mark (Monique) of Campbellton, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon (Philip) Belanger, Jesse (Gerry) Charlebois, Red (Ann) Firth, Rick (Joane) Firth and Reg (Shirley) Firth, and his grand-children, Riley, Joshua, Jacob, Natalie, and Andre.

He was predeceased by one daughter Ellen and one brother Tommy. His funeral was held on January 14 at the Baptist Church with Rev. Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the spring in the rural cemetery. Pallbearers were Curtis Malley, Mark Durette, Timmy Wirtenan, Allain Doucet, Gerry Doucet and Pierre Rail. Honourary Pallbearers were Vance Anderson, George Dawnson, Frank Shearer, Bev Johnson, Rick Firth, James Doyle and Bob Mills. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton.
