James Louis Metallic
Sept 21,1955 - Feb 26, 2003

The sudden death of James Louis Metallic occurred on February 26, 2003 in Nashua, N.H. at the age of 47.

He was born in Campbellton the son of Irene and Louis Metallic of Listuguj.

James lived in Nashua, N.H. and was employed as an ironworker in the Big Dig in Boston with his brothers Gary and Vincent. While in Listuguj, James was a trained fire fighter for ten years with the Listuguj Fire Department. The funeral procession was led by the LFD.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Paige, his brothers, Vernon, Gary and Vincent, his sisters, Arlene, Charlene, Francine, and Tracey all of Listuguj, his aunts, Lorraine Morrison and Hilda Barnaby, and one great-aunt, Lucy Gedeon.

His remains rested at his sister Tracey's home in Listuguj until March 3, 2003. The funeral was held at Ste. Anne de Restigouche Church with Father Landry officiating.

Aurel (Chazz) Chiasson

Aurel (Chazz) Chiasson

A former NBIP Mill worker and businessman, Chazz passed away at the St. Joseph Hospital in Dalhousie on March 2, 2003 at the age of 80 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.

He was born on August 1, 1922 in Petite-Riviere de l'Isle, N.B. son of the late Theotime and Elonora Chiasson.

Chazz served his country in WW11 with the Royal Canadian Nary.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Malley-Chiasson, his daughter, Nancy - Lee Chiasson ( Anthony Soltendieck) of Ottawa, Ontario, his sisters, Adelice (May) Goudreau of Windsor, Ontario, Alida (Joseph) Boudreau of San Diego, Georgina Jones of Dalhousie, Wilma (Edmond) Peters of Chicago, Jeanine (Normand) O'malley of Newcastle, Ontario, and Bella (George) Pritchard of Lindsay, Ontario, his brothers, Moise (Anna-Maria) Chiasson of Montreal, and Ernest (Anita) Chiasson of Dalhousie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one son, David Carl Chiasson of Montreal in 1996, one brother, Norbert, and three sisters, Albertine, Hedwidge and Glorianne.

Family and friends gathered at the funeral that was held on March 6,2003 at the St John Bosco Church in Dalhousie with Rev. Chamberlain officiating.

David's ashes (Chazz's son) were also present at his side during the memorial and Legionnaire Veteran Service. Interment for father and son will follow in the spring at the parish cemetery.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers would be appreciated by the family.

Gerard Huard

The death of Gerard Huard, 58, of Pointe-a-la-Croix occurred on March 10, 2003 in Rimouski, Quebec.

He was born on June 20, 1944 in Oliver Siding (St Jean Baptiste) a son of the late Jean Abel (John) Huard and the late Bernadette Boutin.

He is survived by his wife Fernande Godbout Huard, his daughter, Monique Huard (Jean Guy Gloutnay), his sisters, Marie Jeanne (Evariste Arbour), Ghislaine (Albert Bourdages) and Rose (Denis Beauchemin), his brothers, Gerald (Isabelle Caissy), Robert (Nicole Lapointe), Marc (Danielle Seguin) and Jean Yves (Joanne Forget), his grandson Reno, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Roland.

Donat L. Poirier

The death of Donat L. Poirier of 6 Ortona St., Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on March 9. He was 81.

Born in Chandler, Quebec, on October 25, 1921, he was the son of the late Cyrill and Alphonsine (Bujold) Poirier.

He was a veteran of WW11, during which he served in Canada. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the provincial Department of Tourism for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Allingham Poirier, three sisters, ella Richard (Augustine), Antoinette Caissie (Fred) and Fernande Ouellette (Hector); four brothers, Rene (Rolande), George (Aline), Earnest (Flo) and Andre (Johanne); two sisters-in-law Cecile and Helen and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Jean-Eudes, Fortunat and Paul-Charles.

Verna Miller

The death of Verna Miller, 86, of Dalhousie Jct. Occurred at her home on March 14, 2003.

She was born in Tide Head on January 10, 1917, daughter of the late Lyman MacKenzie and the late Georgina M. Duff.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Miller of Campbellton and Cheryl Miller of Dalhousie Jct., her son Ian (Rosella) Miller of Grand Barachois, NB, her brother Alan MacKenzie of Tide Head, her grandchildren, Jason and Richard Miller and Kirby Menzies and one great-grandson, Jayden Miller.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Miller.

Merle Gaudin

The death of Merle Gaudin of Campbellton occurred on March 9, 2003 at the age of 41.

He was born in Campbellton on August 29, 1961 a son of Mary Joephine Vautour and the late Clifford Gaudin.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his daughters, Tanya Gaudin of Campbellton, his son, Travis Gaudin of Campbellton, his sisters, Rachel Thorne, Doreen Brennan, and Sheila Gaudin, all in Ontario and Judy Cooling of Dawsonville, as well as one grandchild.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brothers, Myles and Sterling and one sister, Ruth.

Alderson Henry Englehart
1917-2003

The death of Alderson Henry Englehart, husband of Brenda, of Greater Lakeburn and formerly of Campbellton occurred at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday March 22, 2003.

Born in Wyers Brook, NB on October 25, 1917 he was the son of the late Benjamin Henry and Kathleen (Colegate) Englehart.

A veteran of the Second World War he served overseas in England, North Africa, Sicily, Belgium, Italy and Holland with the 8th Princess Louise NB Hussars where he was mentioned in dispatches. He had retired from the Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator after many years of service. He attended ST. George's Anglican Church and was also a member of the 8th Hussars Association and the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch #6. An avid gardener he enjoyed the outdoors.

In addition to his wife, of 57 years, Brenda (Hurd) he is survived by his daughters Thelma Englehart of Greater Lakeburn, Ann Carter (Michael) of Dieppe; Patricia Murray (David) of Titusville; Beryl Savoie (Randy) of Riverview; Betty Englehart (David Walsh) of Edmonton; Pamela Dalley of Dieppe; Kandie Devlin (Peter) of Burton; his son Michael Englehart (Janet) of Greater Lakeburn; his sisters Hope Oulton of Riverview; Joan Whittaker of Hoyt; Alma Moran of Bancroft, ON; brothers Melvin Englehart (Loretta) of Dieppe; Boyd Englehart (Norma) of Main River; Melvin Englehart (Helen) of Robichaud Office, 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother James who was killed in action in Holland in 1944.
