Marie Louise (Duguay) Bertin

The death of Marie Louise (Duguay) Bertin of Campbellton, N.B., occurred on April 9 at the age of 90. She was born in Pokemouche, N.B., to the late Stanislas Savoie and Sophie Hebert.

She was a devoted mother and housewife.

She is survived by daughters, Leona (Walter) Baker, Sarnia, Ontario, Catherine (Robert) Vienneau, McLeod's, N.B., Dora (Bob) Hatton, Midway, B.C., sons Leonard, Campbellton, Edgar (Vena), Campbellton and Arven (Joann) Duguay, Beamsville, Ontario, sister Delia Spiteri, Havelock, Ont. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 22 great grand children.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Duguay, 1960, second husband Raoul Bertin, 1991, one son, Patrick 1961, one sister, Mathilda Frigault, one great grandson, Trent Whishlow, and two brothers, Henry and Arthur.

Edith Henrietta (Miller) Mullin
June 22, 1915 - April 7, 2003
Edith Henrietta (Miller) Mullin was born, and raised, in Summerside, Restigouche County (Darlington), to Charles Miller and Maggie Loane of Belledune.

She was a life-long resident of Dalhousie and recently the Dalhousie Nursing Home. She passed away on April 7 at the age of 87 following a brief illness.

She worked on the family dairy farm for many years and later as a secretary for over thirteen years at the NBIP mill in Dalhousie until she 'retired' to raise a family.

She is survived by her son Wayne (Elizabeth) Mullin of Miramichi, daughter, Gail (Roland) Levesque of Mountain Brook, four grandchildren, Eric and Allison Mullin and Kyle and Vanessa Levesque. Also surviving are her sister Violet Kilpatrick of North Easton, Massachusetts, and brothers, Everett Miller of St. Thomas, Ontario, and Sydney (Betty) Miller of Dalhousie.

She is predeceased by both her parents, her second husband, Robert (Bob) Mullin, her first husband, Samuel Bolitho and infant son, Sam, and the following sisters and brothers: Jessie Partrinquin, South Porcupine, Ontario, Jennie (Gilbert) Hamilton, Charlo, Margaret (Arnold) Duncan, London, Ontario, and Gilmore Miller, Dalhousie.

Edith was a member of St. John's United Church and was actively involved with the United Church Women, the Order of the Eastern Star and was a founding organizer of the "Thrift Shop". She was also an avid curler and bridge player.

Paul Michael Leigh Kingston

The death of Paul Michael Leigh Kingston of 165 Allain St., Dalhousie, occurred at the St. Joseph Hospital on April 9 at the age of 38. He was born on September 8, 1964, to Andrew Kingston and Jacqueline Cormier.

He is survived by his parents, Jacqueline Cormier-Kingston and Andrew Kingston of Dalhousie, sisters, Linda (Robert) Armstrong, Hampton, N.B., Anne (Steven) Soles, Fredericton, N.B., four nephews, Nathan, Ryan, Andrew and Gregory.

Allison Cooling

The death of Allison Cooling of Dalhousie, occurred on Friday April 11, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 73.

He was employed by the Charlo Fish Hatchery for 35 years before retiring in 1990.

He was born in Flatlands, the son of the late Harry Cooling and Pearl (Irvine).

He is survived by his special friend Shirley Boudreau, brothers, Howard (Wendy) of Summerside, PEI., Gordon (Pat) of Burlington, Ont., and Danny, sister, Avis Carmichael (John) of Archibald, sister-in-law, Marilyn Cooling of Dalhousie.

He was predeceased by his parents and hsi brother William (Billy).

Pearl Steves
(1950-2003)

The death of Pearl Steves of Nash Creek, N.B., occurred Tuesday, April 8, at the Moncton City Hospital at the age of 75.

She was born in Nash Creek, the daugher of the late Myles Bernard and Florenda (Furlong).

She is survived by her daughters, Ann Meade (Bryan) of Nash Creek. Marina Carrier (Amos) of Nash Creek, sons, Raymond (Mary) Of Jacquet River, Allan of Dalhousie, sisters, Doris Comeau (Zoel) of Dalhousie, Gladys Paradis of Dalhousie, Theresa Carrier (Donald) of Bathurst, Elsie Godin (Herman) of Doyleville, Iris Furlotte (Joey) of Jacquet River, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, George, son, Allan, daughter, Arline, brothers, Delphus and Ralph Bernard.

Jacqueline Drapeau

The death of Jacqueline Drapeau of 240 Victoria St., Dalhousie, N.B., occurred on April 11 at the St. Joseph Hospital, Dalhousie, at the age of 66.

She was born in Dalhousie on December 15, 1936, to the late Ernest Lavigne Sr., and Clothilde Boudreau.

She was a pastoral care volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dalhousie, and a member of the St. John the Baptist and St. Cecilia's choirs.

She is survived by her daughter Danica Drapeau (Pat Brisson), Dalhousie, ssisters, Barbra (Karl) Legere, Salem, Mass., Carmelle (Don) Maillet, Laval, Que. She is also survived by grandson Samuel Brisson, sister-in-law, Ann Lavigne and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Adrien Drapeau, and her brother Ernest Lavigne.

Lucy R. Loubert

The death of Lucy R. Loubert of Campbellton Nursing Home occurred at her residence on April 11. She was born in Campbellton on September 11, 1903, to the late Daniel J. Loubert and Marie Parent.

She was a retired chief-operator for NBTel. She belonged to the C.W.L., Legion of Mary and church choir. She also enjoyed knitting, bridge and crochet.

She is survived by her sister, Leonida, Campbellton, N.B., and her brother Leonard of Cobur, Ontario. She is also survived by four nieces, two of them being Jeannine Lavoie of Dalhousie Junction and Constance Carr of Toronto.

James *Jim* Duncan
1925-2003

Jim Duncan, 77, of Gillingham, Kent Co., England, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2003, in Minster, Kent Co., England. Born in Campbellton, N.B., he was the son of the late Clarence and Lena Duncan (McLellan).

Mr. Duncan was an accountant, having worked in the shipping industry. He joined the Royal Canadian Air force early during WW11 and was attached to the Royal Air Force as a navigator on the Lancaster bombers. He had worked at Kerr Addison, Kirkland, Ont., in the late 40's then moved to England, Australia and then returned to settle in England.

Mr. Duncan is survived by a sister, Barbara "Babs" (Walter "Chic") Shave of Kingston, Ont., and by a brother, Don (Inge) Duncan of Reno, Nevada, four nieces, Colleen, Kathy, Lynn and Faye and by a nephew, Larry.

He was predeceased by a nephew, Kirk. Mr. Duncan was cremated and laid to rest in England.
