Rachel Mary Sherrard
The death of Rachel Mary Sherrard of Campbellton and formerly of Tide Head occurred on July 25, 2003 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
She was 89. She was born in Pointe-a-la-Croix on August 15, 1913 a daughter of the late Benjamin Babcock and the late Katherine Glover.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Roland), Ottawa, her son, Willis (Sandra), Vancouver, and her sister, Ada Hetherington, Campbellton. She is also survived by her grandsons, David (Diana), Ottawa, Glen (Sue), Ottawa, granddaughter, Sandra Sheridan (Rod), Aurora, and great-grandsons, Kazamir, Josef, Conor, Jesse, Evin, Nathan, and Samual, her step-great-grandsons Andre and Dan and step great-granddaughter Anna, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer, her grandson Todd (Bia) and a number of brothers and sisters.
The funeral was held on July 30 at Maher's Funeral Chapel in Campbellton with Wendell Gregan officiating. Interment in the Kempt Road Cemetery, Broadlands, Quebec. Pallbearers were David Gallant, Kazamir Drahotsky, Josef Gallant, Rod Sheridan, Jimmy Babcock, and Clayton Allison.
Honourary pallbearers were Sue, Glen, Ann, and Raymond Gallant, Daryl and Barbara Irvine, Jean Hache, Heather Jamieson, Wallace Dobson, Emile Therrien, Jeannissa Baldwin, Muriel Sharpe, Bob Wallace. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton.
Mary Linda Barnaby
The death of Mary Linda Barnaby of 51 Pacific Drive, Listuguj, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 25. She was 38.
Born in Campbellton on July 3, 1965, she was the daughter of Isaac Barnaby and Verbine Isaac. She is survived by four children, Jessica Jerome of Maria, Domonic and Samson Barnaby and Aja Clement, all of Listuguj. Also surviving are brothers and sisters Francine Leduc of Montreal, Dora Barnaby (Donat Jerome), Denise Barnaby (Lloyd Fontaine), Roland Barnaby (Shelly Germaine), Tracy Barnaby, (Rodney Barnaby), Brian Barnaby, Mona Barnaby (Rene Arsenault) and Winston Barnaby (Tanya Diotte), all of Listuguj and Joffrey Barnaby (Tracy Fiola) of Campbellton.
The funeral was held from St. Ann's Church, Listuguj, on July 26. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Grace Doucett
At the Village Nursing Home Campbellton on August 3, 2003, passed away Mrs. Grace Doucett, wife of the late Harry Doucett.
Born in Oak Bay, PQ on March 12, 1905, the daughter of the late Richard Tennier and late Lydia Anez. Member of St. Thomas Aquinas C.W. L. Survived by daughter: Arjean (Harold) Maglio, California, U.S.A., 2 sons, David (Carmel) Doucett, McLeods, Richard (Micheline) Doucett, Campbellton, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson. Predeceased by her husband Harry, 3 brothers, Lloyd, Russell, Otis Tennier, 4 sisters who died at an early age, son-in-law, Gerald, and grandson, Robert (Bob) Bujold.
Funeral mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, August 7, 2003 with Rev. Wilfred Benoit officiating. Interment was in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen, Denis, Ricki Doucette, Terry Gallant, Marc Blanchard, Mike Michaud.

John P. Moran
On July 31, 2003 passed away at Riverview, N.B., Mr. John P. Moran of 477 Montgomery Street, Dalhousie.
Born in Matapedia, on December 27, 1919, son of the late George Moran and the late Gertrude Lawlor. Mr. Morgan worked for many years at N.B.I.P. as assistant superintendent of the finishing and shipping department. Also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Citizen of the year, involved with the Cancer Society, and many years of volunteering at the rink. He was predeceased by his wife Lois Jarman; one sister, Dorothy; and one brother, George. He is survived by his children: Phyllis (Roger) Lewis, Edmonton, Debbie (Tom) Reinsborough, Riverview, Ann (Horst) Mescheder, Montreal, Cathy (Andrew) Hamer, New Zealand, and son, Owen Moran, Oshawa.
Also survived by his two sisters, Gertrude Fitzgerald, Matapedia, Joan Gillis, Montreal; grandchildren, Tanya Moran, Michelle Moran, Kelly, John and Heather Reinsborough, Andrew, Alannah, and Michael Mescheder. Funeral mass was held at St. John Bosco Church on August 4, 2003.
Interment was held in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home.
Charles Henry Cody
The death of Charles Henry Cody, 94, of Campbellton occurred on August 3, 2003 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
He is survived by his daughter, Doreen Smollett, Toronto, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was a long time employee of the City of Campbellton. A graveside service was held at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery, with nephew Hadley Wood officiating.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
M. Robert Bjorndal
Passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on August 3, 2003 M. Robert Bjorndal of 11 Beach Road, Eel River Bar.
Born in Worchester, Massachusetts on February 16, 1965, son of John Bjorndal and Gladys Simonson. Survived by: Longtime companion Annette Julien; a son, Christopher Bjorndal; three step-children, son Andrew, two daughters, Sam, and Cyndi; Mother Gladys Simonson; mom Francis Bjorndal; three sisters, Lisa Gallen, husband John Gallen, Charlo, Jody Cormier, husband John Cormier, Milbury, Massachusetts, and Cheryl Bjorndal, Eel River Bar; several nieces and nephews; two grandmothers, Mary McBain, and Mildred Pardini; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral mass was held in St. John Bosco Church, Dalhousie, August 6, 2003 with interment in St. John Baptist Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
Ulmont (Monty) Fraser Murray
Ulmont (Monty) Fraser Murray, of 174 Islandview Dr., Flatlands, N.B., passed away in his home on August 5, 2003 at the age of 84.
Born June 14, 1919 in Moores Settlement, P.Q., he was the son of John (Jack) Murray (deceased) and Catherine Fraser (deceased). Monty was employed by CN as a plumber for 34 years; was a Deacon at Flatlands Baptist Church, and was a member of both the Orange Lodge and Royal Canadian Legion. He also served in the North Shore Regiment, serving overseas from 1940-1945. He is survived by his sons, Fraser (Karen), Flatlands, and Phil, Oxbow, Saskatchewan; and sister Kathleen Duncan, Ottawa. He is also survived by his only grandchild, Susan Murray, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth; three brothers, Bob, Charlie and Gordon; one sister, Phyllis, and his parents.
Funeral was held at Flatlands Baptist Church on August 8, 2003, and was officiated by Rev. Watson Williams. Interment was held at Flatlands Cemetery. Pallbearers were Basil Kaine, Bill Duncan, Wade Duncan, Dan Mann, Albert Nicol, John Massey and Greg Ferguson.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbelton.
Zudora (Dora) Sullivan
The death of Dora Sullivan, formerly of Dalhousie, occurred peacefully on July 4 in Scarborough, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Warren. She is survived by one sister, Irene, Nackawic, N.B., and by four children, Gaye, Ontario, Chester, British Columbia, Karen British Columbia, and Linda, New Brunswick.. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held in Scarborough on July 7. Cremation followed by interment in the family plot in New Mills, N.B. at a later date.
